stellar  Renaissance painter,  he also left 13000 pages of illustrated notes on science and engineering  (in mirror-image cursive).  He was an illegitimate son of  Piero da Vinci,  whose full name was  Ser Piero d'Antonio di ser Piero di ser Guido da Vinci  (1426-1504).
 
 Luca Pacioli Leonardo was initiated to mathematics by  Luca Pacioli (1445-1517)  who invented modern  Venitian  double-entry accounting  (1494).  The two shared living quarters in Milan from  1494  to  1499,  at a time when  Leonardo  was painting  The Last Supper  (c. 1495)  and drawing iconic polyhedral frames to illustrate Pacioli's second masterpiece "De divina proportione".
